Translated to English, 'ma koreh' means 'what's happening?' And we mean it when we ask the question. Ma Koreh articles focus on formal and informal community programs that strengthen Jewish identity and community in your hometown. Please tell us what's going on in you community. All suggestions, story ideas and contributions are welcome. Email us at info@jfcuia.org with suggestions and we'll be in touch. |

I am especially proud to be a Jew in Canada today. Just over a year ago, the mosque in Peterborough was firebombed. The local Jewish community responded immediately by not only denouncing the hateful and destructive action but also by welcoming the Muslim community into the local synagogue for services until their place of worship was repaired and habitable.
National Director of Community and Regional Development
The past 6 months I've been impressed by the diversity of the communities and the unwavering commitment of volunteers who have taken on leadership roles to ensure that their Jewish neighbours can access opportunities to connect to each other through Jewish cultural events.
JHMO celebrates the plentiful and impressive achievements and contributions made by the members of the Jewish community while honouring Ontario's Jewish rich culture & heritage. Let us know what you have planned in your community for Jewish Heritage Month Ontario. Email us at info@jfcuia.org with details, links and/or photos and other resources.
