The Jewish Federation of Winnipeg (JFW) invites dynamic, engaging, and energetic professionals to apply for the position of YAD Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for the growth of the Young Adult Division, which focuses on the 18-45 age demographic. The primary goal and objective is to engage the next generation more deeply and meaningfully in community life and leadership activities.

 

Responsibilities:

Community Engagement:

  • Provide visionary, strategic, and motivational leadership to the Young Adult Division
  • Work with the YAD leadership to plan and facilitate new and engaging programs and events for different segments of the young adult population
  • Provide support to the administration of Birthright Israel activities, including initiatives to follow up with and engage Birthright Israel alumni in community activity
  •  Support the operations and growth of Hillel Winnipeg through outreach and engagement to graduate and professional students
  •  Work with program staff working throughout the community to facilitate collaboration and avoid duplication of programs and activities

Campaign Development:

  • Implement a strategy to engage young adults in the Federation annual campaign including prospect identification and solicitation, peer to peer canvassing and participation in campaign events
  • Meet with donors at all levels to inform and educate them about annual campaign and strategically encourage them to contribute
  • Recruit members for and actively participate in various campaign related committees
  •  Support and advise the Campaign Director and management team on matters of development strategy planning and campaign revenue status

Skills and Experience:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years work experience in a relevant field
  • Demonstrate strong relationship building and communication skills
  • Experience with the planning and execution of events and programs
  • An understanding of how to motivate volunteer teams and work with committees
  • Knowledge of budget preparation and a proven ability to work within budgetary constraints
  • Proficient with social media
  • Ability and willingness to speak publicly and give presentations
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to Jewish communal life and institutions
