About the Role 

This is an opportunity for a business leader to drive the largest fund raising campaign in our community. It is a position that truly allows a person to utilize their business skills to make the world a better place. You will work with numerous leaders in our community to assure the continued strength of the Jewish Federation, and the many programs and Jewish organizations supported by the Federation locally and around the world. 

The Director of Development will run the day to day campaign operations, cultivate and steward donors, inspire our volunteers and canvassers and manage our stellar campaign team.

Some highlights of the Director, Development role include:

  • Increase annual fundraising revenue 

  • Ensure strategies are integrated into fundraising activities

  • Develop the strategic plan for the campaign and marketing team

  • Implement the major donor development strategy 

  • Create a deep prospect pipeline

  • Manage all day-to-day annual giving activities

  • Ensure the proper policies, procedures, and best practices are in place 

  • Build relationships with donors, volunteers and community members

Competencies and Characteristics

  • Proven ability to work successfully with high profile corporate, individual, and community leaders

  • Outstanding organizational, motivational, and people skills 

  • Capable self-starter, hands on approach and takes ownership

  • Exceptional communications skills: listening, oral, written, and presentation

  • Desire and willingness to be service oriented

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and manage timelines, goals, and expectations

  • Create a positive, fun and inclusive work environment
