Sophie Kohn Kaminsky

Arriving as a refugee from the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, Sophie settled in Montreal where she grew up, graduated from McGill University and found her life partner. She and her husband moved to Ottawa 43 years ago. There they raised their family, had interesting careers, and participated in many aspects of the Jewish and secular community. For the last number of years, they have been enjoying a busy and engaging retirement. Seven years ago Sophie joined Active Jewish Adults 50+ and soon became head of programming. Then she was asked to take on the position of Second Vice President, with a view towards ultimately becoming President of AJA 50+...right on schedule in June of this year.
