Leah Deslauriers

Leah has been with the JCC since 2007. She is also the co administrator of the L'Chaim Adult Day care Centre. Leah received her Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, a Counseling Families in an Aging Population certificate from the University of British Columbia and a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Gerontology from Simon Fraser University, in Vancouver, British Columbia.  She recently completed the Jewish Experiential Leadership Institute, an online and in-person leadership program specifically designed for JCC professionals.
 
Leah has been serving on various boards for Jewish senior’s subsidized housing and long term care for more than 15 years.   She also works with several Vancouver Jewish Agencies, collaborating on a variety of projects and programs for seniors.  She has been mentoring students in the recreation leadership diploma program at Langara College since 2008, to help prepare them for a career in the recreation industry, with a focus on seniors’ programming.
